Apple Mac OS X is affected by multiple vulnerabilities
Actually that should say:
"Multiple vulnerabilities in OS X were fixed over two months ago."
The article, released by CERT on May 16, 2005 talks about the things
fixed in Security Update 2005-005, released May 2nd.
This isn't new news by any stretch of the imagination...
When you see a security update in Software Update, install it, as
general good practice.
That said, all of the problems listed in the CERT list require a
local user, and most require more than the default configuration to
be enabled.
