I was asking my father, a die-hard Windows fan, why it is that he

haven't concentrated their efforts on us yet.
How do you answer such a charge?
I favor a Louisville Slugger, though some I know think that a length
of garden hose filled with lead shot or an ASP is more versatile.
I posted a long rant on this list or the G-books list a week or so
ago, but in essence:
The crucial difference is that while both systems allow the general
user to log in and be an administrator, Windows assumes admin
permissions are granted, OS X only assumes the right to ask for admin
permissions.
Also, Windows, thanks to it's IncrediStupid(TM) Security Model, IE
exposes the guts of windows to any web site that lies about what it
is. MOST Mac browsers make web stuff play in it's own sandbox, and
the ones that do allow this stuff (Safari) allow you to turn it off.
Safari is just a program. IE is a tightly integrated part of the OS
with it's hooks in everywhere. A flaw in Safari will *maybe* let you
into the local userspace, a Flaw in IE gives you the keys to the
kingdom.
