OK Here's the REAL problem: My cat stepped on the power switch of my surge while I was online. When I tried to reboot, the gray apple came up, the starting OS X and the blue stripes came up, then just a blue screen. I had to reboot with the CD, choose the drive with OS X and restart. Still the blue screen. Then I installed OS 10.4 on another hard drive and it works EXCEPT I have to go thru the starting from the CD routine, choose the right drive, and restart. If I restart, I get the blinking question mark, forcing me to go thru the start from CD routine again. I have used disk utility, chose the start up disk in system preferences and locked it. Basically the drive i choose won't stay set, but will stay set when i choose from the CD. Whew!!
