tried the same thing _ ordered a B&W G3 from Surplus Computer _ the first one came DOA _ wouldn't even power up _ returned it _ the second B&W G3 arrived three weeks later _ it would power up but had the same flashing folder _ was told that ment no OS installed _ tried booting from the Tiger CD but that wouldn't work _ found someone nice enough to burn an OS 9 CD but the G3 wouldn't boot from that either _ needless to say the second one is on its way back _ unfortunetly each computer had to travel from CA to NY & NY to CA _ so this has been going on since mid-May _ will think twice about ordering heavy equipment from the west coast again _ will think trice (sic) about trying old hardware _ this all started as a whim wanting to give Mac a try & be rid of Windoze _ now the Mac bug has bit & will plan another route in . . . . . -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
