Hi everyone,

Right now I use Tiger on my (new) iBook, but it came installed. I want to ultimately upgrade my Sawtooth's OS to Tiger... but it runs 9.2. So... in order to make the step up to Tiger-

Just install Tiger, it is a complete install, doesn't depend on anything else being on the drive.

You don't need to wipe the drive, as the previous poster implies, since you're not running any version of OS X on it now.

Hi again,

Thank you for the input - I did try to install from the Tiger DVD... and it told me I had to have "X" ("X.?" - sorry I can't remember which version) already on the computer before I could install. Maybe the Tiger DVD I have IS an upgrade DVD and not a full install? Could that be it? (It is the one that came with my iBook)... on the disk it reads, "Mac OS X Tiger, Includes Xcode2, CPU Drop In DVD, Version 10.4" but when I tried to install from that (before I sent my message here)... it did not work.

Can I go *directly* from OS 9.2 to Tiger (10.4) withOUT going to 10.0 or 10.1 or 10.2 (etc) first? IF I actually have the full version DVD of Tiger? (which I thought I did...)

Thoughts?
Michelle
