I have a 733 DA also. It was purchased from ebay for $300. All I had to do
was put in a hard drive. I put in two 120 Gigs. Before I even tried to start
it up, I removed the ram, two 256 meg sticks, and took a pencil eraser and
went over the contacts while being careful to not touch the contacts with my
fingers. Did the same thing with the graphic and firewire card. Then I blew
everything out. It fired right up with no problem. I just finished putting
in one more stick of ram, a 512 meg, so now I have an even gig of ram. By
the way, I recommend Crucial for memory. I have Panther on one drive, OS 9
on the other.
Whenever you suspect RAM problems, try cleaning the contacts as described
and carefully re-seating them. This solves the problem most of the time and
saves a lot of money and head aches.
