I encouraged him to buy a secondary internal hard drive. I'm familiar with SCSI, not ATA, but it is possible, right? A 160GB ATA slave drive sounds good, no?


No...the internal IDE bus will only recognize 128GB of it, and that could well be unstable. For > 120 gb you either need to go to an external FW drive or get an ATA controller.
