Monitor settings are the same. I've tried recalibrating the monitor
but it's kind of silly, because all my system colors/photos (screen
saver, background, etc) look fine. It's only SOME photos on the
Internet, all the thumbnails in iPhoto, and everything I view in
Photoshop. These may not be the only areas affected, but they are the
only ones I use, or that I have tried out.
You must have your monitor settings saved, don't you? Then try making
some changes, as you can always go back to your original setting.
However if your system works anything like mine, when you make changes
don't same then to a profile setting that is already listed. I keep
making small changes and when I reset to the profile which I had
already established, nothing seemed to change. Thought that perhaps the
changes were just to small to detect. So I made extreme changes and
again changed to my one profile, well guess what, nothing changed. Next
I again made my extreme changes and saved them to a new profile, yep,
when I then selected that profile, the display was a mess. So back to
the original profile, made my minor changes and saved them to a new
profile and I could then detect my changes. Next deleted my original
profile and then saved my new one with the same name and all was good.
However after that long story I still hadn't solved my problem so.....
So then I decided that I wanted to reset the monitor to the original
factory settings. I have a Viewsonic C70fx, however when I selected
memory recall from the monitor menu (factory default = memory recall)
nothing seamed to change. Well I guess as the old saying goes, when all
else fails read the manual. Finding the .pdf manual from somewhere in
the hides of my disk drives it said that to reset to factory settings
that the monitor had to be set to one of the following: "Macintosh¨ 640
x 480 @ 67 Hz," "Macintosh 832 x 624 @ 74.6 Hz," or "Macintosh 1024 x
768 @ 75 Hz" scan rates to reset to defaults.
Well after changing from "1280 x 960 @ 60 Hz" to "1024 x 768 @ 75 Hz" I
was able to reset to factory defaults and everything got much better.
I've looked at you screen shots and can not say that I was having the
same problems, but you might want to reset to defaults if you monitor
has such a function.
Another idea is the your video card is not fast enough to keep up with
your processor and it is loosing data.
Also have you tried different scan rates, and which color fill are you
using. i.e. Millions, Thousands, or 256? Try changing that setting and
see what kind of results that you get!
