I understand that I will be able to choose which partition on which to
install OS X, however the Beige G3 suffers from the limitation that the
OS X partition must be less than 8 gig and must be the first phsical
partition on the disk.

Thus, I needed at least two partitions, and I like to have at least one
partition that is "seldom used" where I stick "back ups" and set up stuff
for burning to CD.
