Good point but when you were surviving the emergencies
systems and there support networks such as 911 were
not in place - so your fall back position was the
operator ("0") - today if you callthe operator - if
they forward the call - your going to end up on hold
and thats not a goos thing - "411" and "911" are good
solutions and the system is now built around those
numbers and a phone with such services but in is a
real must have in today busy world - and it can
generally save a life or two - you really never know
till after you need it.
