I've heard more than one person on this and other lists claim that data transfer drops to 10 MB/sec with 10.3 and later but I noticed no such performance hit when moving from Jaguar to Panther, and the Apple Knowledge Base articles I've been able to find make no reference to any such phenomenon.
Never swallow anything bigger than your pride >> Gene, A couple of questions if you please; I have an ATTO UL2D in my G4 Sawtooth. What firmware version are you using and does it work in Classic? A year or so ago I had a bad experience with a firmware upgrade that caused this card (then in a PCI Mac) to freeze during the startup process (OS 9) and I had to revert to older firmware. Because of my outdated software, I'm mostly stuck in OS 9 or Classic on this G4. Have you experienced any problems with either OS 9 or the Classic startup process with this card? I would really like to switch this machine to OS X full time but will likely have to run many programs in classic until I can afford to buy all the upgrades and this is the "main" machine.
