Thank you, Bruce for being such a help and information source for all of us for so long. It seems to me that the similarities of the different systems is greater than the differences, and thus the broader one's knowledge base, the better one is at diagnosis of problems and finding solutions. As a former computer illiterate, I can now solve many of my own Mac hardware and software problems (604e, G3, G4, and now G5) with information I have assimilated from several years following this G-list. Actually I have one of each, with each having specific software and accessories that it best handles, without having to buy all new software, just because the hardware or OS has upgraded. I have over time phased out my IIci, Quadra 700, PPC 9500, and PB 5300 as my available hardware and software improved.
Just my opinion.
Again, thank you, Bruce.

No. I'm not joining ANOTHER <bleep> list to satisfy other people's increasing intolerance of anything that doesn't directly pertain to their own systems. Sorry.

A large part of what is talked about here is G3 info because that's where the questions are coming from.

If you have a problem with your G4 ask it here.

Evolution favors the generalist...I could have never amassed the knowledge I have without having been around more knowledgeable folks in a broad, broad range of topics.

"If I have seen farther, it is because I have stood on the shoulders of giants."

That quote of Newton is apt, because it is how we all learn, in a way.

If you bury yourself into a small niche, you just end up standing on a pile of other pygmies.
