Most instructions for installing processor upgrades/replacements call for resetting the CUDA switch afterwards, prior to restarting. Did you do this?

Howdy

Big trouble with my B&W. After upgrading to a 1GHZ
Powerlogix processor and adding 256MB of OWC ram, it
powered on with startup chime and then locked up. I
removed new procerssor and new ram and reinstalled my
stock 400MHZ processor and nothing. Reseated processor
and old ram, still no boot chime. I also moved old
ram to different slots with no success. Please help if
you can. Thanks

Bill

I tried fitting a Mac 400mHz G3 ZIF to my Rev 1 B&W G3. Even with the correct jumper settings, I couldn't get it to boot either. Couldn't get any successful suggestions as to why, so onsold the ZIF (with money-back guarantee). Worked fine for the buyer...

Looking at buying a PowerLogix upgrade now, either new or from a SWAP listee... hope I have better luck this time.

Why should these things be happening?

Sure did. Tried removing, refitting and pushing CUDA several times. Checked all other internal connections too... no help there.
