Just get a better video card. even a Rage pro with 16mB will make a huge difference. You can get one of those for $5. Yes, a Radeon is better. Also, at your higher bus speed, you really should be using Pc100. Are you? Lastly, the Hd and IDe bus in beiges is relatively slow. if you get the chance to get an ATA card and faster drive, or SCSI card and drive, do it. Id say look for at least ATA 66 or 40MB/s/channel SCSI. Probably not the main problem but an area where the beiges are bottlenecked.
