Hi, All you great people on G list. This is to announce the birth of

It is great, Previously used a G3/ 266 and plan on boosting memory
of
my new one by scavenging the G/3/266 for memory sticks.
Would appreciate advice on how to start off correctly. Already plan
on
partitioning the HD, going to 9.2 and getting Jaguar.
Advice sought, what is the best browser to use, e mail program etc.(
I
have dial up), and any other tips.

think young and don't drool yet. "old guy" didn't sound too good.
Thanks, Richard in San Diego
I use Eudora 4.3.2 for my email and I found that it worked fine when
I had
dial up. For my browser I use Netscape 7.02, I am not use how well it
will
work with dial up, but it is the best I think when using OS9 with
most sites.
Or you might try IE 5.12 or iCab [get the latest beta after you have
paid]

If you use IE, which is quite good, get 5.1.6. iCab is not too bad now
(the
Beta 3), but WaMCom Mozilla 1.3 is probably the best for 9.1 I use OE
but
perhaps you better try what denny uses (OE works well but I likely
would not
get married to it in my next life...). But if you are going to X, use
Safari
and/or Firefox and Mail - designed for X...

I've found that when Mozilla, Firefox, OE, iCab and the other won't
display what I want, or won't respond to a merchants page, when I'm
trying to order something on-line I use Opera and I get what I want.
Give Opera a try and see if you like it. You can get Opera @
