I have a 350mhz Sawtooth running OS 9.0.4 with 320mgs ram. I'm

upgrading to OS X(which?). How much ram do you need to effectively run
Tiger? Or Panther? Should I even bother with Panther? I've had this
mac(first one) for about a month, so it's not as if I'm used to OS
9 or have
a lot of files on it. So far, I really like this sawtooth. It's
hard to
believe it's darn near six years old and it can be easily (and
relatively
inexpensively) upgraded to run with the big dogs today! Whatever
was I doing
in that peecee wasteland? Forgive me.
512 megs is the practical mimimum.
Tiger is faster than Panther on this system. I'd go right to that OS
and not mess with older ones. If you're switching from a peecee,
don't bother with OS 9, just dive into OS X.
Welcome to an island of sanity....
