Amen! In fact my brand new mini with 1.42ghz processor and 256 ram felt glacial in comparison to my ancient sawtooth g4/400 with a gig of ram. I absolutely couldn't believe how slow it was. I stuck in a gig of ram in the mini and WOOSH it kicks that ole sawtooths butt all over the floor :)
In my humble often misguided opinion, RAM makes a bigger difference in X than anything else. It was very usable on a 400mhz processor, provided that ram was there :) >To: "G-List" <[email protected]> >From: Bruce Johnson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Sent by: "G-List" <[email protected]> >Date: 09/06/2005 15:47 >Subject: Re: [G] Ram for OS X >512 megs is the practical mimimum. > >Tiger is faster than Panther on this system.
