Hi Harry, (& list):
Did some more research --
Found "Apple disc burner 1.0.1" --- downloaded same (a .sit package)
About Disc Burner says "System Requirements" Mac OS 9.1
Disc Burner works with all Apple built-in CD-RW drives. (and also lists
a batch of non-Apple drives.)
BUT the problem seems to be that even though 'Apple Profiler' shows the
drive as "Apple disc burner Supported' --- Disk burner won't see and
use it. (even when going back to 9.1)
;-(
Oh well, solved the problem by ordering a drive from OWC. May make by
Friday, Monday should be a certainty.

Hi Harry;
I have XPostFfacto, and don't remember reading anything about the
CD-ROM units. I will go back and look.
But the question at this time is, can I write (burn) CD's in 9.22?
TIA Chuck D.

I'm sorry, I didn't understand your question, but here is my
experience, I replaced the DVD that came with my G4 Sawtooth with a
Yamakawa DVR-07 i.e. (Pioneer 107) that I got from ecost.com for
$16.00 after rebate and put it into my Beige G3 DT. The system didn't
recognize the drive so I put the original CDROM drive back in the
platform.
If someone has a solution to your question I'll be looking for the
answer too.
Best Regards, /\*_*/\
