I have a Pioneer DVR 107 (the same as the A07), and I don't remember it burning dual layer. After perusing Pricegrabber.com, I don't see that the A07XLA supports dual layer, either. The 108 and the A08 support dual layer, but not the 107/A07. As for native support, my Yikes! recognizes it in OSX with no patchburn, and I used the Apple Hacked DVD software in OS 9 pre-X to get full support in 9. My Dual G5 2.5 recognizes it perfectly with no patchburn, and I actually prefer it over the stock drive! In short, if you want dual layer, go with the 108/A08. I don't know how well it works with the DA. The 107 is a fantastic drive, well worth the money, even without dual layer support. (I am seriously thinking about buying another one!) As for support for the 108/A08, try www.xlr8yourmac.com. Perusing a review or two, I find that patchburn is required for anything over the 107 unless you are running 10.4 Tiger. If you're running Tiger, the 108 is natively supported. YMMV, Lavode -- "Objects in the rear view mirror may appear closer than they are." -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
