I have also been following the postings on Paypal with interest, and I
wonder if all the problems happened before or after eBay bought
Paypal--anyone know?
I have been planning to use the LEM Swap List to dispose of my trusty
old B&W 350 and my Quadra 800, (anyone interested?) and since most
folks there require Paypal, I signed up for an account--listing only a
credit card, NOT a checking account, mostly because of the credit card
fraud protection. The shocker was when I got a fairly well done
phishing message just hours later, and two more over the next day. I
immediately contacted Paypay Security each time, and was assured it was
coincidental and that they have never been compromised. Odd as it
seemed, I have gotten no more phishes in the weeks since, but I had
never gotten one before, so I was very suspicious.
After the quiet period, I guess I am ready to go ahead and use Paypal
to sell my stuff--but this is a good forum to learn about problems.
Thanks to all who contributed.
