No, merely clicking thorough does nothing, even on Windows systems,

It gives your IP address to the web server. The site owner could then start probing you for vulnerabilities. Except for the DoS, it's not a big deal for Macs but could be fatal to PCs.

And don't forget all the nifty information about you (name, email addr, etc) and your system that might be obtained via cookies and JavaScript. Again, this isn't much of a problem on a Mac, but on a PC - oiy.

The magnitude of either of the above is minor, compared to what happens after you put in your username and password...
