Reset the Printer System
Reinstalled Printer Drivers for Epson Stylus 5200 and Adobe 7.0
I think the key was selecting a specific Adobe printer source (or something)
"Bob's Your Uncle" All seems to work well
Can't help wonder if PSR was necessary but it's worth the $25 shareware.

A little web searching and
playing around and I discover that
my problem isn't with the Epson printer at all.
If I turn Classic off
OSX prints fine.
Turn Classic on and I cannot print from OSX or Classic.
Suggestions appreciated.
Adobe 7.0 will not print pdf in either case.
You might be correct, Bruce, that this latter is an Adobe problem.
Judging from the web search, many of the Adobe products are not too
happy with OSX.
