Hi Diane,
I routinely find good deals on external drives cases with drives inside. I
do a search at <http://www.dealmac.com> and find surprising good deals, many
with free ship. I have had very good luck with LaCie. Here is an example:

The F. A. Porsche-designed LaCie 50GB 2.5" USB 2.0 External Hard Drive,
model no. 301020, costs $89.99 with free shipping at Buy.com. A 5% off
coupon for new customers chops the total price to $85.49, the lowest we've
seen since August. This bus-powered, 4200 rpm hard drive features a 2MB
cache. Coupon ends October 23.

Our nonprofit also gets drive enclosures donated, and rarely have trouble
dropping a new hard drive in the case.
