Hi all (again) ...
I have put the two 512Mb double-sided RAM chips into my Beige G3 with a
256Mb double-sided RAM chip, and (wonder-of-wonders) - it works, well,
it only recognizes 768Mb RAM. But hey, RAM over here in Australia, is
fairly expensive. Each of the 512 sticks cost me $ 95.00, whereas to buy
256Mb double-sided RAM chips would end costing about $ 145.00 each.
I'll have to work on the RAM for the iMac, though, because I went to the
lowendMac site earlier and it reckons that the iMac will take 1 Gig of
(PC100) RAM.
Food for thought

PS
Has anyone got any experience using Timbuktu? I'm goin g to try to
recover another iMac that the video had died and also the PRAM.
According to a site (via lowendmac) I have downloaded the firmware
upgrades, but one site recommended the use of Timbuktu. I've gotten a
evaluation copy from Netopia, but I'd be interested in heari ng first
accounts of the program.
