Hi Jim,
Chances are good you'll need to run a firmware patch to allow your B&W
G3 to recognize the G4 CPU. I got an XLR8 G4 upgrade for my B&W and it
came with the patch. I don't know if the patch is cpu manufacturer
specific, but I know you can download one from the Daystar website.
Also, my kit came with a small container of thermal compound.
