B&W G3/300 w/900mHz upgrade Rev 1 OS9.2 512mb RAM

When I open MacDraw II 1.1v2 (monitor set to 256 colors... note that this is not an option with OS10.2.8, at least om this Mac) I can save once; if I try to save again I get the message "Sorry, there is not enough room on this disk. 1k more memory is needed". If I close the file and reopen it, make a change and then try to save, the computyer obviously remembers that a second save has already been attempted, and the error message comes up again.

Exactly the same result with MacDraw Pro 1.5v3.

Yeah, right...

So is there a way around this?
