Umm, not to burst your bubble or anything, but you are not all that
 protected.

WEP is fairly easy to crack, and you are using the bare minimum encryption with a 64-bit setting.

Without going into it too deep on the list, I would use 128 bit and MAC
 filtering.

How to do that, it depends on the model of the router.

However, WEP will keep out the majority of people who simply are
looking for an available connection.  Mind you those people probably
aren't trying to do anything more than get access.  The ones with WEP
cracking tools are probably the ones trying to hack into your
machines.

I'd guess most of us could live just fine with encryption that discourages casual access to our home nets. I'd also think that it would provide you some legal protection in the event of illegal activity by someone who has hacked into your net.
