Hey all,
I think maybe I'm having a video card ROM update problem. Not sure tho...
300-MHz rev 2 B&W, 384 MB RAM, 10 GB IDE HD, DVD-ROM, ZIP
ATI Rage XClaim VR Pro Graphics card.
It runs Mac OS 9.2.2 quite well.
I had Panther on it, temporarily. It worked ok.
Now I've installed a (retail) Tiger on it.
The installation went smoothly then the machine rebooted. It got to
the funky spinning spikey wheel and just sat there, stuck.
So I hit the reset button and held down cmd-V (Verbose Mode). It
blithers all the normally expected stuff, mounts the disk volumes,
etc. Then it finally says:
"ROM ndrv for ATY,XCLAIMVRPro is too old (0xb0e7d770)."
Is that just informational?
Is that actually where the boot is stuck, or is it stuck within the
*next* thing it's supposed to be doing?
Anyone else using this card with Tiger?
Thx,
- Dan.
