I think Bruce, Daevad, Pete, and Amanda are all correct. It would be
hard to make a comparison because of the type of app's being run.
I bought a Dual 450 Gigabit from another swapper a few years back. He
also had a Quicksilver 867 that I could have bought with about the
same RAM/HD setup. He also thought the 2 machines were about equal in
speed.
Maybe you can check some Xbench scores for a Dual 1 GHz G4 similar to
yours , then check some comparable scores for a single processor
machine and work backwards? Won't be perfect, but it might give you
some help. Probably will mirror the previous comments.
I recently upgraded to a Dual 1.3 GHz G4 (7455) and am very happy
with the results. Got a decent buy (GigaDesigns) from SmallDog.
