try the open firmware screen (this will erase all your files on your
hard drive however.)

when it starts up hold down Cmd+Option+O+F

once the prompt shows up, type "set-defaults" (quotes are not to be
typed, the hyphen is) hit return. then type "reset-all". This should
restart your computer. I did this when my mac booted up like that and
it worked. i hope it works for you!
