Subject: [G] need help w/pricing on G3's
In-Reply-To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
I am looking to find some sort of G3
<snip>
have some serious memory [512] so I don't have to
upgrade it, decent storage and preferably 2 internal
HD [let's say 20-40 gigs]. A combo drive of some sort
would be nice, too.
But how do I price these things
out? For example:
Desktop Beige G3s are Goodwill's Computer Store in Austin, TX are $30
each. They have a G3/233MHz, 128 MB RAM and a wimpy hard
drive--maybe 6 - 10 GB.
So figure whatever the extra would cost you from there. A pair of
256 MB SDRAM DIMMs were about $50 when I bought htem, but I think
that was at the nadir of their pricing. They're probably higher now.
If you're willing to deal with rebates, hard drives in the 160 - 300
GB range are about $70 each plus the sales tax on another $100.
