I am not familiar with the ZR60, but all of my Sony DV camcorders will allow
input from the RCA type (red, yellow, white) cable as well as svideo. All
VHS players I have seen have the three RCA out plugs, and that has always
worked perfectly for me. The Canon may be like my TRV20 that needs a special
plug, with the three plugs on one end and a three position single mini plug
on the other where it plugs into the camera.

As for the Sony DV camcorder I have a TRV20 that I got a a pawn shop for
$100 because it wasn't pretty, but it worked great and it will convert
analog to digital just fine. Stay away from the Digital 8 recorders unless
you get one for a real cheap price as the tape is getting harder to find.

I also have a Sony VX2000 that I use most if the time just because it has
some features I need if I am converting analog tape to digital tape, which
also works great for storage of you digital conversion. That way you can do
the DVD recording at a later date and not have to do everything at once.

The only drawback to the process is that it is in real time, so it literally
takes hours.
