Sorry, I no longer have a G3 in the house to go by; gave the last one
to my daughter. If I am wrong about a reset button on the front, I
may also be wrong about a button on the back of the machine that can
be used for power up/down and reset.

Another thing I didn't mention--there was so much to cover--is that
to recover from hangs, use the reset button on the front of the mac.
It's marked with a left-pointing triangle. A press of that button
will restart the computer. Much more gentle than pulling the plug.
