Yeah, something could be off with my computer, and Apple says that the only
thing for it is to get a mobo replacement. I'm not really thrilled about
having my computer in the shop, so I have been just dealing with it. But to be
honest, USB has been weird for me ever since 1.1. Seems everything wants to be
on a mobo-level port in order to work, and sometimes the devices have to be
re-plugged anyway even if they're on a mobo port. It could also be trouble
with a USB 2 hub. But the interesting thing is that the ports on my monitor
have never worked, whether they were from a Viewsonic monitor, or my Apple
monitor.

I've concluded that the more junk you have plugged into USB, the less stable it
gets. Anyone out there have 127 devices on their chain and want to report how
stable they are?
