Your "started up with your Mac" sequence is correct? Power up modem, wait for it to synchronize with the network. Power up LinkSys, wait for it to finish booting. THEN boot your Mac...

Check the settings in the router and your mac. Make sure both devices have valid and correct IP, subnet masks, and router addresses. Try pinging the router, etc.
