Simplest thing to do: set both machines to DHCP. Turn them off again.
Boot up the QS (Tiger) machine first, then the 7300 (9.1).
Gee, this looks easy, I am tired so I will try this. It could not be
more simple eh?
I set the QS to "Using DHCP" and when I then turned on the 7300 some
numbers came up on the QS network, TCP/IP control panel for IP adress
and subnet mask.
I then looked at the TCP/IP control panel on the 7300 and set to
"Using DHCP Server" - this being the closest to what you say. It has
an IP address, a Subnet address and a router address
This way they will automatically have different IP numbers, and you
don't have to key them in or know what they are.
Fine
Let the OSX machine be the server, and connect to it from the 9.1
machine!
And how do I carry out this advice?
Nothing is happening.
