There was some cryptic settings you had to go through also. Peter, you
did this, what were the settings and which parallell interface did you
use?
If your LW also has a parallell PC-type port you could get a
parallel-to-USB adapter cable from any peecee shop and connect the LW
to your G4. Download the free program "ESP Print" to make the printer
visible to OSX.
I guess you could then use OSX's normal printer sharing to the other
machines (OS9 or OSX) across ethernet
I have a chance to acquire an Apple LaserWriter Pro cheap, but I don't
think this vintage of laser printer has any USB or FireWire
connections, does it? If I get it, is there any way to connect it to
my
G4, running 10.3.9?
Well, I think that most if not all of these old Apple LaserWriters have
parallel ports, don't they? In that case, would this adapter from
Amazon.com

necessary to connect one to a G4's USB port? Can it really be that
simple?
