g3
os 9.2.2

i replaced the original drive with a cdr/rw 8x/4x and it seeed to be working after that,

but i insatlled something (can't remember what it was) and i've been having problems
reading any cd i put in the drive (won't see/mount disc on desktop).

scsi probe doesn't see the cd drive either
(or my external scsi drive even though it mounts on the desktop.)

been getting errors with the apple audio extension when i boot the system:

"apple audio extension failed to load because the required version of the usb software is not present.
this message is only a bug when you have a final candidate build installed."

?????

i have:

apple audio extension 2.0.2
apple cd/dvd driver 1.4.8
audio cd access 5.3.4
authoring support 1.1.5 ( and the usual assortment of authoring support files)
carbon lib 1.6
disc burner ext 1.0.2
toast cd reader 5.0.1
toast usb support 2.1.5 (i have a usb pci card for a printer)
usb device ext 1.4.1
usb mass storage ext 2.0.4
usb mass storage support 2.1.1
usb software locator 1.4.1
usb support 1.4.1

i "think" i may have screwed something up when i installed a driver or extension for the pci usb card.
(maybe it was carbon lib...?)

can anyone out there help me figure out so i can use the cd drive again?
