I'm answering this at 6:53 am on the 25th so it's probably already been answered, but here's my experience:

Sorry I am sounding so late 90's with my mac knowledge
but just catching up with another quick question:

So a B+W G3 uses a VGA monitor and connector. Does
that mean any generic flat screen and/or LCD monitor
works?
I' already had 3 Blue & Whites come through my house and yes, any VGA monitor will work. And, I'd assume that an LCD monitor would also with a VGA connector would work just fine.

A G4 tower takes -only- the newer ADC monitors? Does
that mean older crt VGA monitors will NOT work?
We've had 2 Quicksilver G4's. One was an 867 with an NVidia MX2 card that came with an ADC AND a VGA adapter on the card. I use a VGA monitor and it worked fine. The other Quicksilver (we still have this one) is a dual 1 gig and has an NVidia MX4 card also with ADC AND VGA adapter. We're currently using a VGA monitor with it. I've looked into whether or not I can add one of the current generation of cinema displays and found an ADC to DVI adapter by Belkin and have been told by the tech person at my local Apple Store that the video card in the dual 1 gig Quicksilver will drive a 20 or 23 inch cinema display. So far, I've held off on buying one. He told me that anything above the NVidia MX2 will drive the cinema display....the MX2 would NOT!

I may be getting a B+W G3, but I want to know if that
means down the road I cannot use an Apple cinema
display or if I am forever shunned to the VGA world.
That's my experience. Can't vouch for the accuracy of the last part as I say I haven't tried it. But it's what I've been told.

Hope this helps.
