Leave Font Book alone. Get Extensis Suitcase. There is a new version
called Fusion. Suitcase comes with Font Doctor, and a document called
"Best Practices." If you really want to know how to manage fonts in a
heavy duty production environment, this is the best route. Even if
you are just curious, the document is an eye opener.

Is there a point with having multiple sets of fonts all over the
place or can I use the FontBook to track the doubles down and kill
them?
Which folder is the master folder? Can I move all fots from the
"User" folder to the "Library"?
And what fonts need to remain in the OS9-folder for OS9 to work?
