On a first pass, Disk Utility came up with a Key Length error on the
first partition ... trying to Repair it with a 2nd run, showed no
errors needing repair.

The other partitions didn't need any repair.

Should I continue, and erase my old drive to repartition it, and
trust my backup CCC partitions? now that no errors are reported by
Disk Utility?

I might try just for the heck of it ... not planning to use this
technique again ... I could stand to begin my Time Machine Backups
again anyway ... I am saving way too much info even with manually
controlled backup times.
