Here's where you turned off Indexing

It's responding correctly to that command.

Now you need to do:

sudo mdutil -i on /Volumes/BiggerMac

to restart indexing and rebuild things.

For a large server, you'll probably want to do this at a time when the  
fewest people are using it.
