Boot from the 10.3 disk. Reformat the drive, by selecting Disk Utility from the Installer menu. BE SURE TO CHECK THE "Install OS 9 drivers". Install OS X. Reboot from the OS 9 disk, install OS 9; use 9.1 or 9.2 for this.
