Go to 'About Mac'/ More Info   and check the information about the  
hard disk. Does it say that "OS9 Drivers" are there?

I don't do it that way, but it works for lots of folks.  BUT you may  
still need to have the 'OS9 Drivers' loaded on the HD. [NOT partition  
--- HD]
