If the G4 you have is a Yikes, aka pci graphics, then, yes, the processors are swappable. If your G4 is is a Sawtooth, (with agp graphics) then, no, the processors are not swappable. According to MacTracker, the fastest Yikes was a 400 MHz. So unless you have a Yikes with an upgraded processor, the odds are that the processors are NOT swappable.
