Well, upon further experimentation, the jaggies were the result of two  
things: the low light conditions, and some peculiarities with their  
snapshot function. Here is a test image taken under better conditions.

Bottom line, it looks as though the claimed resolution of 1280 x 1024  
(1.3 megapixels) is based on an interlaced video signal. The snapshot  
takes one frame.

The true resolution of the CCD is very likely 640x512, so when it's  
blown up to full claimed resolution it looks like crap. Their included  
video monitor properly interlaces both frames and displays it as a  
single image on the screen, so the OS screen cap looks better.

Not exactly false advertising, but quite close, imo. It could also  
just be the Mac driver, as well. I haven't installed it under Windows  
to see what it looks like there.

As a video chat camera, under good lighting, it's looks to be a good  
webcam...it's just too bad it isn't a USB2 camera, so it works  
natively with iChat.
