As another post suggested, later versions of VLC was choppy on my  
system, too. Maybe the earlier one would work, but my videos are  
actually playing fine once they get going ... just an occasional  
hiccup, e.g., when I try to do anything else but look at the  
video ... was trying to optimize with what I have, so I asked about  
using the onboard ATA channel at ATA33 versus a PCI controller card  
claiming ATA100 on the PCI bus. Maybe that would lesson the non- 
offensive hiccup using QE.

Wanted to verify my offlist purchase of ATI Radeon 9200 was working  
ok, too.

It's playing fine for a 450MHz Yikes!. I use my Dual 1GHz QS 2002 if  
I need more power ...
