This is for native OS X java-based apps. Linux Java-based apps will  
run on OS X provided that X11 is installed (and it's been an optional  
install in OS X since late 10.2)

ONLY for apps that are expected to run in native mode.

If only Sun would get off their asses and open source for Java like  
they've promised, this could all be a moot issue.
