Thanks for the clarification. I guess you're right, it most probably won't 
work.

It could be though that it works for the Unix/X11 part of Mac OS X, just like 
most open source applications work using macports or fink.
This wouldn't show up for Safari and other native Mac OS X applications, so 
this is not what we are looking for...

So it would seem.
Sad, but business as usual I guess. Apple wants to sell their new computers, 
so there you have yet another feature you get when buy an Intel-Mac.

Reminds me of the way Microsoft sold Windows 2000: USB support, which Windows 
NT 4.0 didn't have. It would have been easy to implement a driver, but 
Microsoft wanted to sell Windows 2000 and so it was.
