tongue in cheek ( even when rather true) is lost here right?

Of course we need backups if we have data to protect. That is a given.

But look at the page that was backlinked. Look at the links off of that.

My comments were more about the page linked to and the motivations and
agendas that they represent. I suppose I have studied media production too
long and see and hear people with their suggestions in my ears and eyes
rather than a friend giving me sage advice that's all.

Yes by all means, do backups. Abso-posi-lutely!

But do we really need to be told this by an ad filled with ads disguised as
a magazine?

Layers of irony like those of an onion were at play when I saw that linked
page.

And it is perfectly alright for me to express this queasiness, when I see
the 24/7/365 oversell we are subjected to in daily life.
